Sunday best 2012 runner up; +Alexis Spight rose to the first position on the Billboard Gospel charts yesterday. The album titled "L.O.L" which had been released since March 2013 just hit the first position in July. In response to this, she gave the following comments on her Facebook page "Delayed is not denied". "Man's extremity, is God's opportunity to show up and be God all over your situation". She gave other comments through which one could feel the joy that was in her heart.
The ex Sunday Best contestant who was the fans favorite during the competion for reasons ranging from her fiery red hair (which is not common in the gospel world) to her unmatched swag or her great vocal prowess or for somthing just as simple as the beauty of her smile. The reason does not really matter, the truth is just that she was loved by all.
This 20 year old lady has made appearances on different T.V shows since then including 106 n Park. Her musical influences include Kim Burrell and she said that she saw it as a great privilege working with her on Sunday Best. When one listens to her songs, one cannot but draw the similarities between her and Kim Burrell.
The Buffalo born singer said she had tried out on other singing competitions and made it but she chose not to progress with them because she felt that she was meant to be singing Gospel music, so she did not go on.
This girl who is a preacher's kid has been performing at several places across the U.S since her Sunday Best experience. She was made popular on Sunday Best when she performed Kirk Franklin's "Imagine Me " in a totally different way. She said Kirk himself was dazed at her the way she performed that song on that day and it was a great moment on the show. Alexis was said to have lost the crown only on the last day when Joshua Rogers had a better performance.

In conclusion, I would like to wish Alexis all the best in her music career. I pray that her gift makes her stand before kings and not mere men and i pray that at the end she will be recognized as a Gospel artist who reached stand impacted the world so greatly with her "out of the box" mentality. Thank you.
